This Privacy Policy was first published on January 17, 2024 (no updates have been made to date).
Our Privacy Policy is two-fold: (1) Website Information Privacy Policy (information we collect on this website), and (2) Clinic Information Privacy Policy (information we collect in the clinic or on the phone). In both categories, this privacy policy sets out how Grantham Denture Clinic uses and protects any information that you give us directly or indirectly when you use this website, on the phone or in-person in our clinic. Grantham Denture Clinic is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. All information we collect from you will be used in accordance with this privacy policy.
(1) Website Information Privacy Policy
The only personal information we presently collect on this website is the information you provide on our Contact Form if you fill it out to request more information from us: your Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and your message. This information is sent to us by that form by email so that we can reply to your inquiry: the information you enter and send to us via that website form would then be used by our staff to respond to you via email or a phone call. If you are an existing patient, we also use this information to fill in any missing data in your patient file in our computer database (e.g. if we’re missing your email address in the file, we’ll fill it in); we may also enter your inquiry into your denturist’s notes in your file.
(i) Security
(ii) Sharing Data
We NEVER share (let alone sell) any of this information with any other party except: (a) clinic staff or (b) any dentist, dental surgeon or doctor you have given permission for us to share information with if necessary to carry out our providing the specific service(s) you are using our clinic for. We do not share any personal or sensitive information without your Consent. We will NOT use your information to provide you with promotional offers or incentives to use our products and services.
(iii) Aggregate Data
In addition, aggregate data may be collected (using Google Analytics) about your visit to this website to provide analytical data that shows us such information as: (a) how you came to view our website (e.g. whether you came to us via an ad, such as Google Ads or Yellow Pages Ads that we have put up, or via a particular search you performed using a search engine—e.g. Google Search), (b) the time & day of your visit, (c) your geographic location and (d) what pages on our website you may have visited. But this is not information that can identify you personally (we do NOT save your IP address for instance). It is only your anonymous activity among the anonymous activity of all other visitors to our website. This is what it means by “aggregate data”: it is an aggregation (“grouping”) of everyone’s data (as you can see in this Google Analytics example report).
What are Cookies? Cookies (often known as internet cookies) are text files saved on your computer with small pieces of data in them—like a username, password, IP Address, etc.—that are used to identify specific users (or at least specific computers via their unique IP (Internet Protocol) Addresses) and improve users’ web browsing experience. Everyone has seen the website banners that ask you if you’ll allow cookies on your browser or not: this is primarily because the European Union made it law for all websites used by citizens of those countries to ask for such permission. Data stored in a cookie is created by the website’s server (the computer running the website) upon your connection to the website, and is exchanged between your computer and the website server so that it knows what information to specifically serve you. It is your web browser (e.g. Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, etc.) on your personal computer that you use to browse the world wide web that stores all the cookies saved by websites that you have visited using that browser (which is why you have control over clearing (deleting) all your current cookies or specific cookies for specific websites whenever you want—as part of the idea of Clearing Your History).
Note: Our website contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those web sites. You can read about their Privacy Policies on those websites if you wish.
(2) Clinic Information Privacy Policy
Clinic Information includes all the information we collect from you on your visiting the Grantham Denture Clinic, or by phone, such as your name, address, phone numbers, date of birth, insurance information, medical and dental history, and lists of medications, as well as details on your denture procedures done, appointment times, details of your dentition (what natural teeth are left in your mouth), notes your denturist makes on your appointments, payment information, correspondence between your denturist and your dentist or oral surgeon, etc. All this information is stored and retained in your file in a password-protected computer database, with paper correspondence and insurance paperwork kept in secured filing cabinets.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
If we update our Privacy Policy, it will be reflected here on this page, with the changes highlighted so that you can see them easily, and with the new effective date at the top of the page.
